In the newly released 2024 edition of the Chambers Europe guide, Dentons’ Tbilisi office maintains its Top-ranked position and increases its individual rankings.

Our practice continues to be ranked as Band 1 for General Business Law, the only practice area ranked by Chambers Europe 2024 for Georgia, and both our partners traditionally are recognized as a top ranked lawyers – Otar Kipshidze Band 1 for Dispute Resolution and Band 2 for General Business Law and Avto Svanidze Band 1 for General Business Law.

We are happy to announce that two of our lawyers have received new rankings. Per the guide, “an outstanding litigation lawyer with a deep and profound knowledge of local laws” Zurab Kiliptari (Dispute Resolution) joins the rankings on the back of strong market support, and Associate to watch Irakli Pipia (General Business Law) enters the rankings for the first time this year on the back of positive client feedback: “Irakli Pipia offers quality client service.”

According to the Chambers Europe’s commentators, “Otar Kipshidze understands the client’s needs very well…”, and “is available for the ‘big picture’ queries”, when Avto Svanidze is described as “a top lawyer.”

Furthermore, Dentons’ Tbilisi team maintained its Top-ranking position in the latest 2024 edition of Chambers and Partners’ global guide, that was released in February. In addition to our Band 1 position in General Business Law, the only practice covered for Georgia, both our partners got leading recognition in the individual rankings.

On March 1, 2024, the EU-Georgia Business Council (EUGBC), within the framework of the USAID Economic Governance Program grant project, hosted the first public-private dialogue meeting of The Black Sea Platform, focused on Georgian Government’s transport and logistics policy.
The key speaker at the meeting was Guram Guramishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development. During the meeting, the representative of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development made a presentation of “Georgia’s 2023-2030 National Transport and Logistics Strategy”, after which a discussion was held with the active participation of the private sector.
About 30 representatives of the EUGBC members and partners took part in the event.
USAID Economic Governance Program grant project – “Support to the Black Sea Platform Sustainability” – is aimed at the promotion of the sustainability of the Black Sea Platform established by the EUGBC, by improvement of its institutional model and efficiency, including through the development of the Black Sea interconnections.

 

On February 20, Czech Ambassador, H.E. Petr Kubernát hosted the EU-Georgia Business Council members and partners, upon the initiative of the EUGBC.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of deepening the bilateral trade and economic relations between Georgia and the Czech Republic, including in the context of granting EU Candidate Status to Georgia.


 

On January 25, 2024, the EU – Georgia Business Council (EUGBC) organized a visit to JSC Sarajishvili for the members of the Council and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The guests had the opportunity to visit the “Sarajishvili” factory, to get acquainted with the history and technology of the production of the Georgian wine brandy.
