EUGBC Members met with H.E. Priit Turk, Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Georgia

 

On March 20, 2014, the Members of EUGBC met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Georgia, H.E. Priit Turk. The meeting was opened by EUGBC Secretary General, Ambassador Zviad Chumburidze. He welcomed the Ambassador and thanked him for meeting with EUGBC members at the Council’s office in Tbilisi.Mr. Chumburidzeinformed Mr. Turk on the mission andactivities of EUGBC. He noted the importance of bilateral relations between Georgia and Estonia, as well as the role of Estonia in fostering EU-Georgia political and economic cooperation.

The meeting was attended by First Vice Chairman of EUGBC Board, Badri Japaridze, Second Vice Chairman of EUGBC Board, David Lee, Executive Director, Tamar Khuntsaria and EUGBC members.

The Estonian Ambassador thanked EUGBC for the opportunity to meet with EUGBC members – representatives of the business community in Georgia. He discussed several important issues affecting Estonia-Georgia and EU-Georgia relations and provided information on various projects implemented by the Embassy of Estonia in Georgia. Mr. Turk also spoke about the state and level of business relations between Georgia and Estonia and thereby expressed willingness and hopes to have the bilateral relations intensified more in the coming years. In addition, the Ambassador referred to the developments taking place in Ukraine and provided his views of its possible implications for Georgia and other countries in Europe.

The Ambassador’s presentation was followed by increasing number of questions and lively discussion involving members and invited guests.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation and exchange of information on a regular basis.
