EU Commissioner For Trade Ms Cecilia Malmström held a meeting with EUGBC.

EU Commissioner For Trade Ms. Cecilia Malmström met EU-Georgian Business Council members together with Prime-Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili. More than 70 Georgian and European companies’ representatives attended the meeting. The main topic was implementation of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area agreement (DCFTA), present obstacles and all kind of opportunities, which DCFTA gives to Georgian business.

During a meeting Ms Cecilia Malmström announced the launch of the EU4Business in Georgia.

EU4Business in Georgia encompasses a technical and financial assistance package of EU-funded programmes worth over GEL 160 million (€62 million) which include assistance to Georgian small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in adapting to EU standards and access to finance and business advice, support to the Georgian Government in trade and private sector reforms, development of the 2016-2020 Georgian SME Strategy, and actions to strengthen business supporting organisations.
