Conference in Tbilisi – “Georgian SMEs and Free Trade with the EU”
EUGBC management together with member companies participated in the conference titled “Georgian SMEs and Free Trade with the EU”.
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) & EU Delegation to Georgia brought together the senior representatives of the government, international financial institutions, small and medium size enterprises, to discuss the results achieved following the implementation of the EU4Business-EBRD credit line. Engaged parties talked about the opportunities for the private sector brought by the free trade with the EU, as well as, companies benefiting from the program shared their experience.
The opening remarks were delivered by Ms Katarina Mathernova, Deputy Director-General, DG NEAR, European Commission; Mr Dimitry Kumsishvili, First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; and Mr Bruno Balvanera, EBRD Director for Caucasus, Moldova & Belarus. The EU4Business-EBRD Credit line, via local partner banks, offers SMEs to invest in upgrading their production, boosting growth and increasing their competitiveness.
