KPMG in Georgia held the Chess Tournament for Students
To remain engaged with the top universities in Georgia, KPMG in Georgia held the Chess Tournament for Students.
On 24 June the Georgian Chess Federation in Tbilisi was the venue for the Chess Tournament organized by KPMG in Georgia. 3 teams representing the Free & Agricultural Universities of Georgia, Caucasus University
and International Black Sea University registered for the tournament to put their chess skills and tactics to the
test and compete for the Cup. Each team included ten players.
The competition was really tough and the winner in the team challenge was International Black Sea
University with 35 points followed by Free & Agricultural Universities team (32 points) and the Caucasus
University (30 points). The individual championship was won by Guga Burduli (Free & Agricultural
Universities), second place in the individual and first place in the female category was won by Lika
Kobeshavidze (Caucasus University), followed by second place in men Temur Otkhozoria (Caucasus
University) and Davit Akhaladze (International Black Sea University).
All tournament participants appreciated the high level of the tournament and its excellent organization, and
were really happy that KPMG had invited them to take part in the competition.
