EUGBC organized a seminar on “Prospects of EU-Georgia Association Agreement/DCFTA
On 19 May 2014, the EUGBC organized a seminar on Prospects of EU-Georgia Association Agreement/DCFTA, discussing tariff and nontariff barriers in the trade with EU.
The seminar was held in the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia. The seminar was opened by Zviad Chumburidze, EUGBC Secretary General. Tamar Beruchashvili, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Michael Janelidze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and Boris Iarochevitch, Deputy Head of the Delegation to Georgia welcomed the opening part of the seminar.
Two presentations were delivered during the seminar: Presentation given by EUGBC new Core member – Asseco, Giorgi Oniani, Deputy CEO, Partner and presentation of EUGBC new website and activities, given by EUGBC Assistant of the Secretary General Nino Mchedlishvili.
EUGBC Experts Kakha Gogolashvili (Director of EU Studies at Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies) and Nino Chokheli (USAID Economic Prosperity Initiative) made interesting presentations on Tariffs in the trade with the EU; Mutual recognition agreement and Technical barriers in international trade: WTO and TBT agreements, as well as EU requirements and implementations for Georgia.
Closing part of the seminar was followed by questions and discussions.
