BP CEO met with Prime Minister of Georgia
Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili met with the CEO of BP, Robert Dudley. The parties discussed current economic and infrastructure projects of Georgia. They also discussed the project of one of the largest gas pipelines – Shah Deniz. “We have provided the Prime Minister with the updated information about the progress of Shah Deniz project. This is one of the largest projects in the world which will provide gas from Azerbaijan through Georgia to Turkey, Greece, and Albania. Today I have visited the construction of the pipeline. This project will create up to 2 thousand jobs for Georgia. The last time I was in Georgia in 2000 and today I told the Prime Minister about my impressions regarding the great progress that is evident,” -Robert Dudley noted. The meeting was also attended by the regional (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey) President of BP Gordon Birrell, Head of Robert Dudley’s Office Alexander Cook, head of BP Georgia Christopher Schlueter, also the Minister of Economic and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili and the deputy Minister of Energy Mariam Valishvili.
