Visit of the Georgian Business Delegation to the Republic of Austria
Following the signature of EU-Georgia Association Agreement, EU-Georgia Business Council (EUGBC) started new European project by organizing Expo&Economic Photo Exhibitions and B2B Platforms commencing from Vienna (Austria). These Events will take place in the capitals of EU Member States in the years of 2014-2018 and aim at exposing and promoting Georgian business companies and their production in order to encourage their direct contacts with the European counterparts.
On November 19, 2014 EUGBC supported by EUROCHAMBRES and EU Delegation to Georgia organized visit of the Georgian Business Delegation to the Republic of Austria. The participating Georgian companies took part in the Austrian-Georgian Business forum and EUGBC Expo&Economic Photo Exhibition. Site visits of the Georgian companies and B2B meetings were arranged as well. Note: EUROCHAMBRES has secured the extension of the East Invest 1 contract until August 2017. The main purpose was to install the SME Roadshow Facility to allow the companies (SMEs) from the Eastern Partnership region to explore business opportunities with the EU and also to promote the region with the European business community. The Facility has successfully supported the organisation of a business delegation visit from Georgia to Vienna (Austria).
20 Georgian companies from Agribusiness, Construction and Tourism sectors took part in the activity. We are happy to present the Catalogue of participating Georgian SMEs (http://www.east-invest.eu/uploads/Modules/Documents/eugbc–internet-catalogue-final-18.11.2014-2.pdf). The activity was organized in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Austria and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO). EUGBC expresses its utmost gratitude to H.E. Konstantine Zaldastanishvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Austria and former Secretary General of EUGBC for his valuable support.
The first EUGBC Expo&Economic Photo Exhibition in Vienna was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development; Mr. Emmanuel Haton, Chairman of the Board of EUGBC, Director of European Government Affairs at BP; Mr. Richard Schenz, Vice-President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and Mr. Zviad Chumburidze, Secretary General of EUGBC.\
