The Georgia-EU International Investor’s Conference was held in Tbilisi
On 13 June 2014, the Georgia-EU Investors’ Conference was held in Tbilisi at the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel. The conference discussed the prospects of integration with the European Union for investment in Georgia, particularly following its decision to sign an Association Agreement (AA) and Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) with the EU. It aimed at helping investors – from Georgia and other countries – to see what in practical terms the AA and DCFTA will mean for their businesses. The conference also aimed to provide opportunities for business promotion and business-to-business contacts.
The Conference was opened by Jose-Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, Maia Panjikidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, and Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Several hundreds of representatives of the government, diplomatic corps, business sector and international and non-governmental organizations took part in the event.
The EU-Georgia Business Council was one of the co-organizers of the Conference.
