EUGBC meeting with EU’s Chief Negotiator on DCFTA with Georgia, Philippe Cuisson

Philippe Cuisson, Representative of Directorate for Trade of European Commission, Chief Negotiator on DCFTA with Georgia from EU visited EUGBC office in Tbilisi on March 26, 2014. The meeting was held on the occasion of the International Conference “Economic Integration with the European Union Prospects and Opportunities”. At the meeting Mr. Cuisson discussed the issues related to the EU-Georgia Association Agreement/DCFTA together with EUGBC members – senior representatives of the businesses in Georgia.

Zviad Chumburidze, EUGBC Secretary General opened the meeting and welcomed the guests. Mr. Chumburidze spoke about the mission, goals and various projects of EUGBC in particular supporting and deepening EU-Georgia trade and economic relations.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, Head of the EU Delegation in Tbilisi, H.E. Philip Dimitrov, First Vice Chairman of EUGBC Board, Badri Japaridze and Vice Chairman, David Lee. In addition, around 15 representatives of EUGBC member businesses were present at the meeting.

The sides spoke about importance of the Association Agreement with its integral part – DCFTA, and stressed that the AA/DCFTA plays significant role in EU-Georgia economic relations and notably for the development of Georgia’s business sector.
