Giorgi Kacharava was promoted as Executive Director of EUGBC

 

EU-Georgia Business Council is delighted to announce promotion of Giorgi Kacharava to the position of Executive Director.

Giorgi Kacharava joined EU-Georgia Business Council (EUGBC) in 2014. At present he is a Deputy Chairman of DCFTA Advisory Group established under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; as well as member of EU-GEORGIA CIVIL SOCIETY PLATFORM established according to EU-Georgia Association Agreement.

Giorgi Kacharava has a long and distinguished career in diplomatic service. Since 1998, he has served in a number of positions in the Georgian Foreign Service.
He was in charge for coordination of the implementation of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan (VLAP) with the European Union, as well as for the preparation of very first Progress Reports for the European Commission on this matter (2013, position: Deputy Director of the European Integration); Before he was Serving as Deputy Head of Mission, at the Embassy of Georgia to Hungary (also accredited to Croatia and Montenegro). He was also serving at the Georgian Embassies to Israel and Estonia.

Mr. Kacharava graduated from Tbilisi State University with a master degree, having specialized in the field of Macroeconomics. He also graduated from Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and awarded the Special Certificate in European Studies.

He speaks Georgian, English, Russian and Hebrew.
