The BP Foundation has committed to donate $50,000 to the Georgian Red Cross in the wake of heavy flooding in Tbilisi, Georgia on 13 June 2015. The contribution from the BP Foundation through the Red Cross will go toward providing relief assistance to those affected.

BP has also launched employee matching fund to support Tbilisi flood relief efforts. The BP Foundation will match up employee contributions to support immediate disaster relief efforts in Tbilisi.

BP Georgia has donated 700 pairs of safety gloves to the local Red Cross to provide the basic protective items to the large number of volunteers working to clear up the flood-hit areas from mud and debris.

Country Manager for BP Georgia, Chris Schlueter says: “We share the country’s grief and send our heartfelt condolences to those directly impacted, to the Government and people of Georgia and our community, on behalf of the entire BP family. I hope that the donation from BP can play a small part in helping country to recover.”

BP is one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies, serving millions of customers every day in more than 80 countries, and employing more than 80,000 people.

Together with business partners, BP has been operating energy transit projects in Georgia for 18 years. BP in Georgia is the lead investor and operator of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, South Caucasus gas Pipeline (SCP) and Western Route Export Pipeline (WREP). BP invested more than USD 1.5 billion into energy projects and sustainable development initiatives in Georgia. Major part of BP’s contribution to Georgia is in providing gas from SCP for domestic use as well as local employment and taxes. BP employs 500 people and generates business for local suppliers and contractors.  Over the past ten years, BP’s contribution helped to promote local community and business development, education and protection of Georgia’s cultural and natural environment.  BP has started expansion of the SCP bringing additional gas supply opportunity and USD 2bn investment to the country.

 ბი–პი ეხმარება სტიქიით დაზარალებულებს

კომპანია ბი–პი–მ გამოყო 50,000 აშშ დოლარი ქ. თბილისში 13 ივნისს მომხდარი წყალდიდობის შედეგებით დაზარალებულთა დასახმარებლად.  თანხა გადაირიცხება საქართველოს წითელი ჯვრის საზოგადოების ანგარიშზე და მოხმარდება სტიქიის შედეგად დაზარალებულ პირთათვის დახმარების აღმოჩენას.

ბი–პი–მ ასევე გახსნა სპეციალური ფონდი თანამშრომელთა შემოწირულობისათვის. კომპანია მოახდენს თითოეული თანამშრომლის შემოწირულობის იდენტური თანხის დამატებით გადარიცხვას ფონდში.

ბი–პი–მ  სტიქიის შემდგომ გაწმენდით სამუშაოებში ჩართული მოხალისეებისათვის  700 დამცავი ხელთათმანი გადასცა საქართველოს წითელი ჯვრის საზოგადოებას.
