10th meeting of the EU-Georgia civil society platform held in Brussels

On December 16, 2022 , Executive Director of EU-Georgia Business Council (EUGBC) Giorgi Kacharava took part at the 10th meeting of the EU-Georgia civil society platform (CSP) held in Brussels.
CSP meetings, usually takes place in Brussels or Tbilisi, by rotation, twice in a year.
The EU-Georgia CSP was established in accordance to art. 412 of EU-Georgia Association Agreement (AA) on 16 June 2016.
European Economic and Social Committee and Georgian National Platform of EaP CSF have played leading role in establishment of the EU-Georgia CSP.
The EU-Georgia CSP aims to create space for exchange of views on implementation of the AA, development of recommendations to the EU and Georgian governments and institutions, presenting them to the EU-Georgia Association Council.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of civil society of EU and Georgia who simultaneously are the members of the abovementioned platform.
The opening remarks were made by the Co-chairs of the EU-Georgia CSP: Kakha Gogolashvili, Director of the EU Studies Center and Ms Dovilė Juodkaitė, Lithuania’s Forum of Disability Organizations, EESC.
Following issues have been discussed during the CSP meeting:
>Georgia’s EU perspective: assessment of the implementation of the 12 priorities identified by the EU & implementation of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement
>Socio-economic impact of the sudden migration on Georgia
>Implementation of the Chapter 16 on Education, training and youth with focus on the NEET component
